Are you ready for Clean Sweep 2015?

I'm done with my life feeling stuffed full of unfinished business. I'm done with "busy". I'm done with stress. I choose freedom. I CHOOSE JOY!

This past fall I started to give away unwanted and unneeded stuff from my house. I began to say, “Yes!” every time charities like Lupus, Healing Minds, and Disabled Vets called. It gave me the boost I needed to get something, anything, bagged and out on the front porch on pickup day. It was amazing how much I got rid of in just a few months and I felt so much lighter, so much happier!

In the coaching program I’m in it’s encouraged that we do a Clean Sweep. The first time I looked at the list, I blanched and quickly found something else to do. It was overwhelming! Four categories, each with 25 items—100 items—oh my God. Then it occurred to me at the end of the year, that cleaning out closets and drawers felt so good, I bet doing the whole Clean Sweep program would feel great! I decided I would just break it down into small chunks. An item a week. Some will be difficult, some will be easy. I keep imagining how free I'll feel each time I get to put a check in the box. (YES! That one will no longer weigh me down!)

Want to join me? The weekly Clean Sweep blog post will be up every Monday morning—follow along and we can support each other! (Sign up on the right to receive the Clean Sweep blog posts right in your email box!)

The Objective and Promise:

The goal is to get a score of 100 out of 100. Each of the 100 items is an “incompletion”. Incompletions are physical, emotional, or mental items that drain our energy. Each incompletion requires energy to live with. The promise is, as each item gets checked off the list, we’ll have more energy and feel more alive. Clean space, communication, and self-responsibility will give us clarity on who we are, where we are, and where we are going. We will react less and choose more in our day-to-day lives. We need this higher perspective to design the life we’d like to live.

For me that means I have more SPACE in my life for my loves: my husband and kids, my horse and dogs, my family and friends, school, writing, Reiki, photography. I'm through being dragged down by unfinished business. I'm only interested in allowing my heart to sing!

The four categories and a few items from each category:

1. Physical Environment

-My personal files, papers, and receipts are neatly filed away.

-My bedroom lets me have the best sleep.

- I back up my hard drive at least monthly.

- My bed is made daily.

2. Well Being
- My teeth and gums are healthy. (Have seen dentist in last 6 months).
- I have had a complete physical examination within the past 3 years.

- I don't rush or use adrenaline to get the job done.

- I walk or exercise at least three times per week.

3. Money
- I know how much I must have to be minimally financially independent and I have a plan to get there.
- I live on a weekly budget, which allows me to save and not suffer.- My will is up-to-date and accurate.
- I am on a career / professional / business track which is or will soon be financially and personally rewarding.

4. Relationships
-I have communicated or attempted to communicate with everyone whom I have hurt, injured or seriously upset, even if it wasn't fully my fault.
-I spend time with people who don't try to change me.
-I have told my parents, in the last 3 months, that I love them.
-I have no habits, which are unacceptable to me.

CHOOSE JOY!  :-)
